Masculine Blazer

Styling this business casual look with a masculine blazer. I love it's neutral color and the boldness it gives.
This blazer is branded in Forever 21. I actually thrifted this from Daisy's Exchange for $7!! WIN! When I come across good deals at thrifty stores I try to not miss a chance. A brand new blazer like this from Forever 21 would be around $25+. Plus the condition is definitely close to new still!

To the person who misplaced this on a different rack, hehe, thank you!

I paired up this blazer with my skinny-leg jeans branded in l.e.i., a light blue cami tank and purse from Forever 21, and white pointy toes in Christian Siriano from Payless. I balanced the white shoes with pearl earrings, and a white and gold accent watch. The watch is an off brand. I love watches but I'm not one to spend dollars on them when I can get a fashionable watch that works, and looks similar for cheap!

I felt that the blazer by itself was a well statement so I kept all else at a minimum.  Definitely one of my favorite piece!

A little boldness never hurt no one.
Thank you!!

Bell-sleeves

Hi, once again!
I know I have not been posting for the longest time. There are many things in life we have to learn to balance among one another.

There are several things I'd like to share with you all. But first, my outfit of the day!
I'm feeling a little "old school" today. Perhaps a tab bit hip.
Bare with me, my photos were taken by phone. I should start carrying my camera around more often!

The shirt I am wearing today is a bell-sleeved top from Forever 21. I actually thrifted this top from Goodwill! Quality and everything is close to new; win-win!
I would also love to share with you all (on a separate post) my thrift items I have picked up.

This sheer, thin top is so cute! I especially love the nude, tan color. It has crochet lace connecting the bell shaped sleeves to the top portion of the sleeves. I feel like this really gives the shirt a Spring, Summer outdoor look. This top wouldn't be something I wear in the winter though. Fall may be accepting in transition to its season.

For as long as the item is available, find similar item here.

The denim I am wearing is from L.E.I. (Life, Energy, Intelligence). You can find this brand at several different stores. I actually got mine from Walmart.
Very fitting! Skinny legs they are. Material is stretchy so even though it's fitting, it's not suffocating or suctioning in my legs.
This has got to be one of my favorite pair of jeans so far! An alternative bottom I think I would have worn would be high waist shorts (vintage/old school looking).

As for my shoes--these are familiar! I am glad I can pair them up all year long. Again, they are from Oldnavy (they aren't in stock anymore).I love the comfy-ness of them and the bulky heels. Makes it that much more easier to wear all day if need be.

Overall, I kept my accessories at a minimal. The bell-sleeves stood out enough.
I had small diamond studs for earrings, and a medium sized pearl bracelet. I didn't carry a bag or purse with me. I attended a wedding gathering for a friend and felt that it'd be easiest to not carry a bag so with me I had a small pocket wallet.

This is all for this outfit. Thank you for your time and I hope to inspire those of you whom support and like my styles!

Fall Is In the Air

Easing in with the FALL weather!

Today's weather is still quite sunny! But with some cool wind.

In my outfit today I am wearing all neutral tones! Easy colors to go to when you're in doubt. Never goes wrong.

  • My top was given to me from my sister. She had ordered it online somewhere. No specific brand labeled. I definitely have a thang for oversized sweater!! This is so fluffy and comfy.
  • As for my pants, I am wearing my Mossimo boyfriend jeans I have previously posted about. They have shrunk a bit from being washed but they are still loose to stay in it's style. Because my shoes come up to my ankle I had rolled them up once to not look too bunched at the ankles.

  • My shoes!! I love shoes! These I had picked up from Old Navy. They were on sale! They are comfy and will go with anything, all year long. To me these have a vintage spark to it's look.

  • Bag!! If you remember me posting up my fall trend picks, a statement bag is a plus! The bag I am carrying is from Forever 21. Love it because I hardly carry or wear anything black so it's nice for my collection. I also love that it has a satchel along with a handle. The size is just about perfect! Not big, nor small.

This outfit I felt was casual and comfortable enough for a simple day out. Got some coffee, ate a little and just enjoyed quality time.
Thank you!

Born This Way

Hey all!

This post is non-related to fashion! But do continue reading if you'd like to hear what I have to say about Too Faced's newest foundation, "Born This Way"!

I finally picked up "Born This Way" foundation by Too Faced!! I have to say that I love it and it was worth it's price ($39 + tax)!! Loved the packaging as well. Makes me feel like I own a luxurious make up, not that it's not high end already or anything.

You can find this in store and online at Sephora and Ulta, or at Too Faced cosmetics online.  You can stop by either store and ask for samples!! If you've been thinking about this foundation I'd suggest you get samples first. I on the other hand just jumped right in.

The color I am wearing is "Natural Beige" (my photos have no filter). How I found my color--color matched it to the tone of my neck, then cheek. It is medium to full coverage. I have applied 1 layer in the photo above. What I used to apply it with was a beauty sponge. Can be applied by preferrences.
I have under this foundation, "Glamoflauge" concealer in the color light/medium by Hard Candy.
Here is a swatch of it on the whitest sheet of paper I had:
I love the feel of it and it's scent!! I have normal to oily skin. Kind of dry at the moment as I am undergoing some blemishes. It does feel good and last all day; not dewy or oily feeling. I would say that depending on your personal skin type you may want to wear a face primer as a base and possibly have a powder to pat on when needed. At first I felt like there is this red undertone color to the foundation itself but I think after it settles on your skin it absorbs and oxidizes it gives a radiant, flawless look. I was wanting to try a tint lighter because of this red hint but after a week of wearing this I've come to be content.

Before/After (not filtered):
I have concealer under this foundation.

This is my personal opinion about this foundation! Yours may be different.
I think this was definitely worth it!

No One Cares

Before the season changes once more for the year, my outfit of the day. I've just changed from working part time to full time so I haven't been posting much. But, just one last outfit before Autumn arrives!

The essential articles in today's outfit are these two lovely items.

I had picked up my shoes from our local Ross. Ross is a secondary store that offers departmental and brand name clothing at 40% less than it's original price -- some other secondary store you can think of are Tj Maxx and Marshall's.
The shoe brand I'm wearing is Report Shoes. Today is the first day I have worn them. They are pretty comfy. It's got a height, probably about 3-4 inches to it but I was able to wear it for majority of the day. I love them so much! Definitely love at first sight and I have no regret buying them.
Find more shoes from Report Shoes at https://www.reportshoes.com

My little vintage inspired bag is from Target, brand Mossimo. I have never been disappointed at any Mossimo brand item I've owned. Great brand! Or I'm just a loyal customer. It's quite small but I love the simplicity of it. Fits my iPhone, wallet, chapstick and any other small essentials I need for the day.

Forgot to mention, but my hat is also from Target in the brand Merona

As for my top and bottom, Forever 21!!
Love my mint pleated, high waisted shorts. Nice flow and comfy. Also kind of looks like a skirt. My t-shirt is oversized and has a nice cotton feel. The text on it reads, "No ONE CARES; Paris Couture". Both of these exact articles may not be in stores now but I'm certain you can find similar items online or in stores.

Overall I had a great outing with my family. Thanks for stopping by!

Fall 2015 Trend Picks

Every so often I look up and read about the seasonal fashion trends. Fall always seems to feel like the longest season, ever! Spring and Summer flew by so quick.

*I can't tell you where to shop but as I come across these articles I will update with you all where you too can find them. Check back every so often for something new.

I came across elle.com and it featured about twenty apparels that are currently hype for this Fall. Of the twenty, twelve stood out to me. I chose these twelve to share with you all as I can see myself style them.
I also came across harpersbazaar.com and would like to share five appealing elements to me.
As the season settles I'll continue to make my posts relative to these trends and reference the new posts to this current one; build this post up on the go. So keep up with my updates!

From elle.com:

1) So as you all have seen, statement necklaces has been super-duper popular these past years. Not this Fall! The bling is in the ear (pun intended, haha)!! It's all about sparkly and feminine jewelry. It's back! Statement earrings. Get a hold of some for yourself.

2) Loafers are in too. This Fall, comfort > height. The chunky heels are stylish. I've heard a few people say they look like "old lady shoes". I think they're quite attracting! Just gotta find the right ones to match you! I've been admiring loafer shoes. I may just pick some up this Fall.

3) Black Boots. As you all may have recalled, last Fall tan and brown boots were totally the hype. 2015 is calling for black boots! As it is the ideal color to match everything. Prep yourself with a pair of black boot for Fall and Winter!

4) This Fall grey is the "chicest" thing you can do. Monochromatic grey is a plus!! Especially for suits.

5) Super sexy, slimming--high waist!
I love high waists!! The boyfriend hates it but I love this vintage, classic look. It's back again. Waist is escalating past the belly button. This look, shape helps exaggerate long and lean legs with a tiny mid-section. Although I am super skinny and this silhouette doesn't help me look any bigger than I am, I love it! Can't wait to go Fall shopping!

6) Also going way back in styles, the Victorian look. High collars, ruffles and lace all is coming back in trend but in bright, leather details. Victorian is traditionally buttoned up. I can totally see myself rock this look. Hopefully through out Fall I can share an inspired look with this!

7) This season it all seems to be about the silhouette, our (women) body shape! This Fall we should all love our legs too! Short skirts are in. Crazy, I know. It's going to be freezing! But just style right and you won't be too cold. It is a flattery and youthful look, as elle.com mentioned. If you don't want to buy new skirts, cycle your Summer and Spring skirts with a Fall twist to them.

8) The classic plaid. This Fall plaid is a must have. Particularly, red plaid is the choice! Red is to go to because black is a dominant color coming in for Winter. It contrasts one another.

9) How about we take the trends to a fancier end. One shoulder is definitely a lovely look. The one sleeve is the perfect way to show off a fabulous bag! Which is definitely another new statement for Fall. Or just to show off those nice looking arms you've been working on all Summer (hehe).

10) Remember those Peter Pan collars? The ones that are like necklaces and you just wear them over your shirt? Well look for Turtleneck Dickies; not quite scarf, not quite sweater. This is more high end fashion but it is expected to be a big bang for Fall this year.

11) If you've never worn tights hopefully this Fall sways you.
But isn't it quite contradicting that short skirts are in because we love our legs, yet we want to cover our legs! Grab yourself a few selection; sheer, opaque, or even netted tights and play around with looks anyways.

12) Last but not least of my favorite trends from elle.com, a skinny scarf. It is said to be the MUST HAVE accessory of the season! Easy to transition between different outfits and looks. Scarfs are handy in general. Everyone should always keep their head, hands, neck, and feet warm for the cold season. Stay warm!

The next set of trends I'd like to share are from harpersbazaar.com. This website addressed more pieces from street fashions that are thought to be aspiring for Fall. Of the many I found five I like or see myself address:

1) What lady doesn't love bags!! I am a big bag hoarder. I try to never miss any awesome deal I come across. I intend to share a few of my favorites soon! Bold bags, big or small, makes a win for Fall. I'm totally in.

2) The whole light hair dye and such was a big hit for the last couple of years. I have personally been wanting to color my hair but I kept stopping myself. I guess it's a great thing! Long brown hair is rocking it this season!

3) Another common trend, yet hype for Fall is the fringe. It is seen on everything from bags to dress and outerwear. I don't particularly own anything fringe-y but I will more than likely pick myself up some fringe.

4) More is better.  If you don't want to wear a coat, layer, layer, layer! I mean it's common sense that you'd wear more layers and dress warmer for the Fall and Winter, but why wear a coat when you don't really have to.  Layering can be such a fun thing!

5) And finally! Everyone loves a perfect coat. Shearling coats are still definitely popular. Shearling coats keep it chic. The main colors are a neutral tan/brown or black coat!

My future posts I hope to bring in these elements.

I hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I have writing about it! Always remember that trends are a hype. It is only for a moment then fades. Your style is YOU so have fun and explore!
Thanks so much to those of you who take your time to support me and my blog.

Grunge

Have you ever wanted to wear something but afraid of looking awkward or weird? I have always wanted to style a "grunge" look.

Now, what is grunge style? Grunge fashion at it's height came out of financial hardship and a growth of new alternative rock. Typically the style combines elements of punk mixed with working class clothes that are inexpensive, such as jeans and plaid patterns. This grunge style also brought back ripped and shredded clothing that was popular in the 80's. Today it is a well known fashion trend.

The Elements:
Plaid flannel shirt
This plaid piece is one of the most recognizable element of Grunge fashion. It is popular because it is available in so many different colors and affordable. Often time you'll find a plaid shirt or sweater tied around the waist if it is not worn.

Jeans
Jeans are another essential. Most of the time jeans should be well worn, with rips or holes. Looking over worn is the idea! I paired my look with ripped boyfriend jeans. Not extremely over-worn yet, but it's faded ness and rips give off that feel.

Footwear
Grunge usually consist of worn out shoes (e.g. high tops, Dr. Martens, combat boots). The more worn out they look the more grunge they are. For my look I kept it cleaned. I wore my black Breckelle cutout ankle boots.

Hair and accessories
Jewelry has no real place. If so, just something simple. As seen, I wore a plain gold chain necklace with some bangles that coordinated with the gold.
Hair is usually worn messy. And when I say messy, it can go beyond just hair that looked like it has not been brushed and cleaned. Could be bleached, grown out color dye--anything that makes it look unkempt.
Make up is commonly heavy and dark with a smudged.

In many outfits today it varies depending on the wearer. Like me for example, it is simple, as that's how I like to keep my outfits. Others like to mix and match, giving it a thrift store vibe or with lots of layering.
I would wear this look for a night out, or just a casual wear for an outing, such as eating out, shopping, etc. maybe wear some hightop sneakers for a hip-hop vibe!

I hope you all find this post interesting and go out of your comfort to try different styles for yourself!! Even if it's just for a day.
